Another storm to hit Southern Ontario and Southern Quebec

Another storm system is heading toward southern Ontario.

On Friday evening snow and blowing snow are expected across the area. Up to 20 cm of snow is possible through Friday evening. More snow is expected on Saturday.

Snow may mix with or change to rain for areas north of Lake Erie to as far east as Niagara and Toronto. Rainfall amounts of 10 to 15 mm are possible for this area.

The winter storm will continue through the day on Saturday across southern Ontario and portions of northeastern Ontario. Snowfall amounts could reach total snowfall amounts of 15 to 35 cm.

Winds will also be strong resulting in blizzard-like conditions at times on Saturday afternoon for areas east of Lake Huron.

Along the northeastern shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario wind gusts up to 110 km/h are possible on Saturday afternoon. Power outages are likely.

Southern Quebec will also see impacts from this storm.

Snow is expected to begin overnight Friday night over Western and Southern Quebec, and reach Eastern Quebec during the day on Saturday.

A changeover to rain is possible over southern areas, with a possibility of freezing rain during the transition from snow to rain.

There is still some uncertainty regarding the expected precipitation amounts.

Stormy sea conditions are also expected in eastern areas.
