Antarctica Records Hottest Temperature Ever

Antarctica recorded it's hottest temperature ever on Thursday.
Esperanza research station, owned by Argentina, located in the northern part of Antarctica recorded a temperature of 18.3 degrees Celsius (65 degrees Fahrenheit).
The previous record was 17.5 degrees Celsius set on March 24, 2015.
Records in the area have been kept since 1961.
Esperanza Base is a permanent, all-year-round Argentine research station in Hope Bay, Trinity Peninsula.
It is one of only two civilian settlements in Antarctica.
