Asteroid Whizzes Past Earth and No One Notices
An asteroid about the size of a car passed by Earth on Saturday and no one saw it coming.
The object, named 2020 GQ, whizzed past our planet, missing us by only 2,950 km. It was 3 metres to 6 metres across.
The reason that no one saw it coming is because it came from the direction of the sun.
NASA says that it is the closest an asteroid has ever come to Earth without hitting it.
Has the asteroid hit Earth, it would have turned into a fireball and now cause any damage.
