Australia is seeing extreme heat. The Bureau of Meteorology is warning that on Friday, some areas will see the warmest weather since 2020.
Portions of South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and ACT will likely be hotter than both yesterday and today.
Temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees in portions of South Australia.
The extreme heat has increased the fire danger in areas of the southeast, with a "High" to "Extreme" fire danger risk.
Temperatures are expected to drop significantly by Sunday.
