Waking up this morning, temperatures across the Prairies are biting cold.

Temperatures are in the minus thirties in some areas, mainly in northern Manitoba and northern Saskatchewan.

Wind chills will drop to minus 40 or colder.

High temperatures for today are expected to remain in the mid-minus twenties.

Across southern sections of the Prairies, temperatures will be in the minus teens.

The cold weather will linger through the week.
