Blizzard conditions expected across eastern Newfoundland

An area of low pressure will move across Newfoundland Sunday night into Monday.

The Avalon Peninsula will see 25 to 35 cm of snow combined with strong winds gusting between 80 and 100 km/h.

Additionally, heavy snow is expected for portions of the Burin Peninsula, Clarenville, the Bonavista Peninsula, and Terra Nova. 10 to 20 cm of snow is expected in these areas combined with strong winds.

Conditions will improve throughout the day on Monday into Monday evening.
