Climate report released as leaders arrive for G20 summit

G20 leaders are arriving in New Delhi, India for the summit, and one of the topics that will be discussed is climate change.

The UN released a climate change report today. The report states "global emissions are not in line with modelled global mitigation pathways consistent with the temperature goal of the Paris Agreement.

It also outlines that "there is a rapidly narrowing window to raise ambition and implement existing commitments to limit warming to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels."

India’s G20 Presidency theme is “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.

Climate change is one of the topics on the agenda at the G20 summit. There will also be discussions around increasing loans to developing nations from multilateral institutions, reforming international debt structures, regulating cryptocurrencies, and addressing the impact of geopolitical uncertainties on food and energy security.
