Colorado Low to impact Southern Ontario

A Colorado Low will move into Southern Ontario today. The impacts will begin this morning in southwestern areas and continue into Thursday for some areas.


Snow will start across southwestern Ontario this morning and will change to freezing rain this afternoon. For Windsor and surrounding areas, freezing rain is expected to continue overnight. 15 to 20 mm of freezing rain is expected which will lead to power outages and dangerous driving.


Areas near London will likely see snow this morning into this afternoon before a transition to freezing rain late this afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected and 15 to 20 mm of freezing rain. This area could also see power outages and dangerous driving conditions.


Snow will start in the GTA to the Barrie area late this afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected. This snow will have a significant impact on the evening commute. A transition to ice pellets is expected tonight into Thursday morning resulting in slippery roads.


From Kingston to Ottawa, snow is expected this evening and will continue on Thursday. Snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected resulting in disruptions in travel.


Additionally on Friday snow squalls will be possible for areas such as London, Goderich and Kincardine. Up to 10 cm is possible.
