Damage reported on Tuesday & Wednesday due to thunderstorms in Ontario


On Tuesday thunderstorms rolled across central and southern Ontario.


The storms caused tree damage and power outages, particularly in the Hastings area.


There was also a video of a funnel cloud associated with the storm that impacted the area. This storm also tracked through the area east of Peterborough between Hastings and Lakefield.


On Wednesday more severe thunderstorms impacted portions of central and southeastern Ontario.


There were several reports of pea to ping pong ball-sized hail as well as tree damage around the Kingston and Prince Edward County areas.


Multiple funnel clouds were also reported south of Ottawa in the Richmond and Kemptville areas. Tree and property damage was reported in Richmond. A waterspout was spotted near Sauble Beach along with reports of downed trees between Sauble Beach and Sauble Falls and power outages in the northern portions of Sauble Beach.


Hydro One reported more than 26,000 customers were without power due to the high winds and thunderstorms that impacted southern Ontario.


The Northern Tornadoes Project is currently accessing the damage.
