Dangerous travel conditions across parts of the United States on Thanksgiving

An area of low pressure will move through the Midwest and into the Northeast Coast on Thanksgiving. Scattered showers are expected along portions of the East Coast.

Snow continues across parts of the Northeastern Interior until Friday morning, resulting in dangerous travel conditions.

Dry weather continues across the West thanks to an upper ridge.

A colder airmass will move in across the Great Plains and Mississippi Valley on Thanksgiving setting up a period of cold weather.

Thunderstorm risk

There is a risk of strong to potentially severe thunderstorms Thursday across parts of the Southeast and Carolinas from late morning into the afternoon. Some storms could produce damaging wind, isolated hail, and a tornado or two.
