Dangerously cold wind chills grip the Maritimes

A prolonged period of dangerously cold wind chills is affecting parts of the Maritimes.


In New Brunswick, very cold conditions are expected across the entire province through Sunday morning. Wind chill values will generally range from -27 to -33, with the coldest conditions in northwestern areas, where wind chills could drop to -30 to -40. Temperatures are forecast to begin moderating Sunday afternoon.


Across Prince Edward Island, coldest wind chills will be from -27 to -33 until Sunday morning. Wind chills are expected to begin moderating on Sunday afternoon.


In northern Nova Scotia, a similar stretch of bitterly cold is expected to continue until Sunday morning, with wind chill values between -30 and -34.
