Daylight Saving Time ends tonight

Love it or hate it Daylight Saving Time ends tonight at 2:00 am. Clocks will need to be turned back one hour. The exception is some digital devices such as cell phones which will change automatically.

Port Arthur, Ontario, was the first city in the world to enact daylight saving time, on July 1, 1908. Not all provinces in Canada observe Daylight Saving Time.

It is also a good practice to replace batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Some detectors should be on every level of your home, including the basement, in every bedroom and in the hallway or room outside of every bedroom or separate sleeping area.

Homes or cabins that have a wood, oil or propane fuel-fired appliance also have a carbon monoxide detector installed on each level of the structure.
