Dinosaur fossil eggs found in India
Paleontologists in India have found a large number of dinosaur fossil eggs.
The eggs belonged to the titanosaurs, these dinosaurs were a group of long-necked sauropods that included some of the largest land dinosaurs to have ever existed.
Guntupalli Prasad at the University of Delhi and his colleagues found over 250 fossil eggs in 92 nests. The eggs were up to 20 cm in length and were found in the Lameta Formation.
This new discovery leads scientists to believe that the titanosaurs abandoned hatchlings.
Paleontologists found titanosaur species bones in this area previously.
