Earl causes significant damage in St. John's

There is widespread damage on Old Petty Harbour Road and on Mooney Crescent in the Kilbride area of St. John's.

Water has destroyed the road and crews are currently on site but both roads are closed and impassable at this time.

There are several other damaged areas as well.

It wasn't only St. John's with damage.

The remnants of Hurricane Earl caused significant damage in Trepassey. The storm destroyed the breakwater to the Lower Coast.

On Saturday the Lower Coast road was closed and remains closed today.

After the destruction of the breakwater, there was water and debris coming over the road cutting the area off.
