Earthquake recorded off the coast of British Columbia

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred 228 km west of Port Hardy, British Columbia, on Monday at 5:30 p.m.


The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres.


There was no tsunami threat and no damage was reported.


The west coast of British Columbia is located in an active seismic zone and experiences earthquakes of varying magnitudes throughout the year.
