Heavy rain has caused extensive flooding across central Europe that has claimed at least eight lives.

Over 10,000 people were evacuated from their homes in the Czech Republic after rivers burst their banks in several areas.

The area has been hit by the worst flooding in decades from Austria to Romania including the Czech Republic and Poland.

A bridge collapsed in a historic town in Poland and the river Danube continues to rise in Budapest.

The rain is from the storm named Boris.
