Evacuations Continue in BC from Wildfires #BCwx


Christie Mountain (K51287) Wildfire

There are several wildfires in southeastern British Columbia that are out of control.


Evacuation orders are in effect near the Christie Mtn Interface Fire and Findlay Creek Fire.


The Christie Mountain Fire is estimated to be 2,000.0 hectares in size. The fire is burning in difficult rocky sloped terrain with limited access points for ground crews and heavy equipment.


There are 132 firefighters and 15 helicopters dispatched to the site.


The Doctor Creek Fire is estimated to be 3,000.0 hectares in size.


30 firefighters, 5 helicopters, and 5 pieces of heavy equipment are supporting the response as required. Structural protection is also being utilized.
