Extreme cold has taken a grip in the Prairies.

There are several extreme cold warnings in effect.

Wind chill values are below minus 40 and this extreme cold is expected to continue through Wednesday.

After Wednesday we won't see a drastic warm-up, but temperatures will moderate somewhat which may be enough to see a discontinuation of the extreme cold warnings.

Limit your time outside and make sure to cover up exposed skin. Also, don't leave pets outside.
