Extreme heat returning to National Capital Region this weekend

Extreme heat is going to make a comeback to the National Capital Region this weekend.

Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are expected to be near 30 degrees with humidex values in the mid-30s.

There will be little reprieve overnight with lows down around 18 to 21 degrees.

With the heat comes the risk of thunderstorms. Most, if not all, thunderstorms will be non-severe.

Temperatures will return to more seasonal values, about 25 degrees, on Monday.
