First tornado of the year confirmed in Ontario



The Northern Tornadoes Project has confirmed the first tornado of the season in Canada.


The tornado occurred on March 16 at Malden Centre in southwestern Ontario.


After conducting a ground drone investigation, the tornado was given an EF1 rating. EF1 tornadoes have winds between 138 and 177 km/h.


There were no injuries, but a roof was ripped off a mobile home.
