The Northern Tornadoes Project has confirmed the first tornado of the season in Canada.

The tornado occurred on March 16 at Malden Centre in southwestern Ontario.

After conducting a ground drone investigation, the tornado was given an EF1 rating. EF1 tornadoes have winds between 138 and 177 km/h.

There were no injuries, but a roof was ripped off a mobile home.
