Flooding in Happy Valley-Goose Bay

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay in Labrador issued an Urgent Public Safety Message on Sunday.

Milder temperatures and rainfall is continuing to create flooding on some streets in the town.

The Town is advising residents that crews will continue to address and monitor the situation and have placed signage along Kelland Drive to Churchill Street and continue to be out to deal with clearing any Municipal Roads' flooding on a priority basis.

Residents can also expect increased water pooling and localized flooding, compounding issues with potholes. Motorists should proceed with caution through any water pooling. Town crews will attempt to address these areas by pushing snow away from the roadside to create places where the water can drain municipal roads.

Due to the pooling on roads, some potholes may not be visible as a result motorists should exercise extreme caution.
