For those hoping for an early spring, you're probably out of luck. Today is Groundhog Day and the weather predicting rodents have spoken.

Both Shubenacadie Sam in Nova Scotia and Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania saw their shadows this morning meaning we are in for six more weeks of winter.

Wiarton Willie in Ontario predicted an early spring.

The legend of Groundhog Day is that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den and winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early.
