Heat and smoke across the Prairie provinces

It will be another hot day across the Prairie provinces, with temperatures expected to be near 30 degrees in many areas.

The warm weather is expected to persist all this week.

Those in the area are reminded to consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day, take frequent breaks from the heat, and spend time in cooled indoor spaces where possible.

You should also drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated. Check for your children or pets before you exit your vehicle; do not leave any person or pet inside a closed vehicle for any length of time.

Adding to the heat is poor air quality due to smoke. Smoke from forest fires across the Pacific Northwest will continue to impact areas of southwestern Saskatchewan for the next few days.
