Heatwave continues in Japan

Japan is contending with a heatwave that has been ongoing for close to a week now. Many locations have seen temperatures soar past 35 degrees Celsius.

Tokyo broke a nearly 150-year-old heat record.

Authorities are now warning of power supply issues.

Over the next week, most of Japan will continue to see temperatures well above seasonal values.

Heat is not the only concern, Tropical Depression 05W (Aere) could impact southern regions of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday.
