Heatwave continues to grip parts of Europe

A heatwave continues to grip parts of Europe with temperatures soaring into the 30s and 40s in some cases.

The U.K. Met Office has issued a red warning for extreme heat for portions of the United Kingdom. Very hot weather is expected on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday and Tuesday temperatures are expected to reach 35 degrees in London.

Several European countries are contending with wildfires. There have been evacuations in different regions of France, Spain, Portugal and Croatia due to wildfires.

The frequency of heatwaves will increase as climate change worsens.

The hot weather is expected to last for at least through next week for some areas. You can check local weather conditions across Europe at https://www.wxcentre.ca/europe.
