Heavy Rain and Hail Reported Across Saskatchewan

Back on Thursday there were severe thunderstorms that affected portions of southern and central Saskatchewan.


The area received heavy rain and hail.


Here is a summary of storm reports received by Environment and Climate Change Canada:

  • Watrous: 33 mm

  • Last Mountain Lake: 33 mm

  • Val Marie: 27 mm

  • Pilger: 18 mm

  • 1.5km northeast of Craik: 42 mm

  • Limerick: 39 mm

  • 5km east of Craven: 30 mm

  • 11km southwest of Clavet: 27 mm

  • Kelvington: 26 mm

  • 14km southeast of Wynyard: 24 mm

  • 7km southwest of Spalding: 24 mm

  • 7km northwest of Strasbourg: 20 mm

  • Melfort: 18 mm

Reports received from weather watchers:

  • 100 mm of rain in 3 hours just north of Lipton

  • Golf ball sized hail (45 mm) at Parkbeg

  • Quarter sized hail (24 mm) 1 km west of Tugaske
