An atmospheric river will bring more heavy rain and strong winds to the northern coast of British Columbia tonight and Thursday.

For the Central Coast and North Coast, heavy rain will start tonight and continue into Thursday. Rainfall amounts of 100 mm are possible by the time the rain comes to an end.

The highest accumulations are expected in the coastal communities between Portland Inlet and Milbanke Sound.

Strong winds are expected for the Central Coast, Haida Gwaii, and North Coast. Winds will increase to 90 gusting to 110 km/h over Haida Gwaii this evening before reaching the North Coast overnight and the Central Coast and northern Vancouver Island early Thursday morning.

There is the potential for some localized flooding, and power outages are possible.
