Heavy rain brings up to 43 mm to parts of Manitoba

An approaching low-pressure system brought rain and gusty winds to southern Manitoba on Monday, with some areas receiving more than 40 mm of rain.


Environment Canada reports that, as of 5 a.m. Tuesday, the highest rainfall total was recorded at Drifting River with 43 mm.


Other reported totals include:

  • Virden: 39 mm

  • Sinclair: 38 mm

  • Brandon: 36 mm

  • Dauphin: 33 mm

  • Wasagaming: 28 mm

  • Gimli: 27 mm

  • Melita: 27 mm

  • McCreary: 27 mm

  • Selkirk: 25 mm

  • Lac Du Bonnet: 24 mm

  • Winnipeg: 23 mm

  • Fisher Branch: 19 mm

  • Stonewall: 18 mm

  • Portage-La-Prairie: 18 mm

  • Berens River: 17 mm

  • Steinbach: 13 mm

  • Emerson: 12 mm
