A low pressure system will bring a multi-day rain event to western Saskatchewan and Alberta starting tonight.
Heavy rainfall amounts are possible. Across western Saskatchewan rainfall amounts of 15 to 35 millimetres is expected. Across most of Alberta, rainfall will be higher with about 30 to as much as 70 millimetres.
The rain will linger through the weekend, particularly in northern Alberta.
Some severe thunderstorms may fire up on Thursday across the southeastern sections of Alberta and southern Saskatchewan. Theses storms may produce small hail and strong winds.
Heavy rain will push into Manitoba on Sunday.
