Officials in Vancouver have designated nine beaches as unsafe for swimming due to high levels of E. coli.
E. coli is a bacterium that can cause infections.
The beaches that are closed are:
Ambleside Beach
Wreck Beach Trail 4
English Bay
Kitsilano Beach
Second Beach
Sunset Beach
Third Beach
Lions Bay
Trout Lake
Higher than expected E. coli has been detected at Dundarave Beach, Sandy Beach, and Eagle Harbour, but swimming is not restricted at this time.
