Homes Destroyed as bushfires Hit New Zealand

Dozens of homes have been destroyed in New Zealand after bushfires ravaged the area.

There were no injuries in the fires that hit the village of Lake Ohau.

Strong winds aided the spread of the flames.

As of Monday, 4,600 hectares were burned. 100 people have been displaced and at least 50 structures have been destroyed.

Lake Ōhau is a lake in the Mackenzie Basin in the South Island of New Zealand.
