Intense low to bring strong winds, rain, and snow to sections of Alberta and Saskatchewan

A powerful area of low pressure is expected to develop in southern Alberta on Wednesday afternoon.


The low will bring strong winds, rain, and snow to southern sections of Alberta and southern Saskatchewan.


Southern Alberta will see wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h beginning early Thursday morning.

Across southern and central Saskatchewan, strong winds are expected on Wednesday Night and Thursday. Winds may gust between 80 and 105 km/h.


Rain will start on Thursday morning across the northern parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan, with amounts of 20 to 40 mm possible. Across northern Alberta and into north-central Saskatchewan, snowfall totals could exceed 20 cm.
