Jefferson City, Missouri Hit by Catastrophic Tornado


Jefferson City, Missouri has been hit by a catastrophic tornado.


It hit on Wednesday night when most people were asleep.


Approximately 15 minutes before midnight on May 22, 2019, a tornado emergency was issued for the Jefferson City area.


Minutes later, a large tornado caused catastrophic damage to the city.


Several structures have damage, roofs tore off houses, trees and power lines down.


There are multiple injuries.


The same tornado killed three people in Golden City, Missouri.


At least 29 tornadoes have been reported over the past 24 hours, mostly in Missouri and Oklahoma.


Jefferson City is the capital of the U.S. state of Missouri and the 15th most populous city in the state.


Severe storms are possible once again today.
