Levee Fails Along Arkansas River

Early on Friday after a levee breached along the Arkansas River.

Residents are being urged to evacuate in the town of Dardanelle, Arkansas where 160 homes are threatened.

This latest levee failure is just another one in a series of breeches.

Other levee's have failed in Missouri and several in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

The Arkansas River is a major tributary of the Mississippi River. It generally flows to the east and southeast as it traverses the U.S. states of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
