Low Over the Gulf of Mexico May Develop

There is a small area of low pressure located over the northern Gulf of Mexico that is worth watching for some potential tropical development.

Right now, the low has little potential with limited thunderstorm activity. The low will move inland early today, but is expected to evolve into a larger low pressure system and move northeastward, possibly emerging offshore of the Carolinas later this week.

Once the low is there, it will be met with ocean waters in the high twenties and little wind shear. These ingredients will be more conducive for development.

From there, the low is expected to track up the eastern seaboard and may have an impact on the weather in Atlantic Canada later this week.

Keep checking back for updates.
