Massive Asteroid to Zip Past Earth

Today a massive asteroid is expected zip past Earth.

This asteroid is about the size of a stadium.

In space terms, it is expected to come close to Earth, about 5.1 million kilometres away. The Moon is 385,000 kilometres away from Earth.

There are two smaller asteroids that have also passed Earth in recent days.

Any asteroid larger than 150 metres and passes within 7.4 million kilometres are considered dangerous.
