Messy mix of weather expected Tuesday across Newfoundland


A low will push across Newfoundland on Tuesday bringing snow to most of the Island.


On the Avalon, south coast, and most of central Newfoundland the snow will change to rain with the potential for some freezing rain.


For those areas, snowfall amounts of about 5 centimetres are expected followed by about 5 to 10 millimetres of rain.


For southeastern Labrador, the west coast, Northern Peninsula and east to about Grand Falls-Windsor, precipitation will remain as snow. In these areas, snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 centimetres are expected.


Across the Island winds will gust to about 80 km/h on Tuesday.


Conditions will improve overnight on Tuesday.

  • Norman Bay to Lodge Bay

  • Corner Brook and vicinity

  • Gros Morne

  • Bay St. George

  • Parson's Pond - Hawke's Bay

  • Deer Lake - Humber Valley

  • Buchans and the interior

  • Grand Falls-Windsor and vicinity

  • Bay of Exploits

  • Green Bay - White Bay

  • Northern Peninsula East

  • Port Saunders and the Straits
