Meteor Streak Across Vancouver Sky

Many people reported a fireball streaking across the sky in Vancouver on Thursday.

In the afternoon on Thursday, the fireball was so bright, it was visible in the early afternoon.

It was most likely a meteor. A meteoroid that enters the earth’s atmosphere and vaporizes. Also called a “shooting star.”

Most times, the meteor would have burned up upon entry and not make it to the ground. It is not clear is any portion would have survived and made it to Earth in this instance.
