Mid-week storm likely for northeastern Ontario

An area of low pressure will push across northeastern Ontario on Tuesday night into Wednesday. This low will deliver snow and blowing snow along with ice pellets, freezing rain, rain, and possible thunderstorms.

Portions of northeastern and far northeastern Ontario will see snow. Areas northeast of Lake Superior to James Bay could see 15 cm by Wednesday evening.

Gusty northeasterly winds could produce blowing snow with significantly reduced visibilities.

Areas further south see snow mixing with ice pellets and freezing rain.

Parts of southern Ontario could also see heavy rainfall amounts coupled with thunderstorms overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
