More significant snow expected for eastern Newfoundland

An area of low pressure will move across Newfoundland tonight and Sunday morning. The low will bring more snow to the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula, through Clarenville and the Bonavista Peninsula.

The heaviest snow will occur over the southern Avalon and the St. John's Metro area where 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected.

Over the northern Avalon, Burin and Bonavista Peninsula, snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected.

Over the southern Avalon Peninsula, winds will gust to 100 km/h.
