National Climate Emergency Declared in Canada


In the House of Commons last night there was a motion that passed declaring a national climate emergency in Canada.


Environment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna put the motion forward and it passed 186 votes to 63.


It declares a national climate emergency, and supports the country's commitment to meeting the emissions targets outlined in the Paris Agreement.
