A powerful low pressure system approached Newfoundland from the southwest early Wednesday morning, Valentines Day, and slowly made its way across the Grand Banks over the next 48 hours before departing the area Friday afternoon. The long lasting storm delivered significant snowfall accumulations and high winds.
