NHC watching for potential tropical development

The National Hurricane Center expects an area of low pressure to develop in the northern Gulf of Mexico from a frontal boundary currently located over Georiga.

If any development does occur, it will be slow to do so.

The low will deliver heavy rain to the northern Gulf Coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle over the next few days.

The National Hurricane Center gives this low a 20 percent chance of formation over the next five days.
