Over 800 killed after powerful earthquake hits Morocco
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake has hit Morocco killing 820 people. According to local media, 672 others have been injured.
There is widespread damage to the area.
The earthquake occurred at 11:11 p.m. local time and was centred 56.3 km west of Oukaïmedene, Morocco at a depth of 18 km.
Those injured are being transported to hospital. Hospitals are asking people to donate blood.
World leaders have offered words of support including U.S. President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
