An earthquake in eastern Afghanistan killed over 800 people, and another 2,800 people were injured on Sunday.
The magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck 27 km east-northeast of Jalālābād at a depth of 8.0 kilometres.
A request has been made for field hospitals, shelter, food and clean water.
The earthquake was also felt in India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Earthquakes are common in eastern Afghanistan and western Pakistan because of the India-Eurasia plate interactions.
