Poor air quality continues to be an issue over southern and interior sections of British Columbia.

The air quality health index for today in Castlegar, Central Okanagan, Cranbrook, Kamloops, North Okanagan, Quesnel, South Okanagan, Sparwood, and Williams Lake is at 4, but 10+ in areas of smoke.

Smoke may also be visible in the Similkameen, Southern Okanagan and along Hwy 16, from Smithers through Terrace.

Those in high-risk areas should avoid strenuous activities outdoors. Children and the elderly should also avoid outdoor physical exertion. Reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors, especially if you experience symptoms such as coughing and throat irritation.
