Remnants of Fay Bringing Heavy Rain to Ontario & Quebec #ONstorm #QCstorm

The remnants of Tropical Storm Fay will bring heavy rain to southern and eastern Ontario and Quebec today.

Most areas of southern Ontario will receive 30 to 50 mm of rain. Locally higher amounts are possible in thunderstorm activity. There is the potential that some areas could see 100 mm of rain.

While this rain is needed in the area, should it materialize, it has the potential to cause flooding, since it will fall in a short amount of time.

Across western and northern Quebec, rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 millimetres are expected today and Sunday.

Fay is disorganized and has weakened to a post-tropical cyclone. Maximum sustained winds are near 55 km/h with higher gusts.

Weakening is forecast during the next day so, and the post-tropical cyclone is likely to dissipate by late Sunday.
