The Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is responding to several flooding events on the southwest coast as a storm batters the province.
At this time Route 461 on the west coast, south of the Port au Port Peninsula, is closed due to flooding. Crews are also responding to a damaged road in the Flat Bay area.
Repairs will begin when water levels subside.
On the Northern Peninsula, the highway from Plum Point to St. Anthony is closed due to drifting snow and poor visibility. In Labrador, the highway from the Quebec Border to Lodge Bay is also closed.
As of 4:00 pm, there were over 2,600 customers without power in eastern Newfoundland due to strong winds.
