Roads submerged as Dallas hit with nearl 10 inches of rain

Dallas, Texas has experienced significant flooding overnight.

Some locations received nearly 10 inches (250 mm) of rain.

Downtown Dallas was one of the worst areas hit. Numerous roads are underwater in the Downtown area.

People had to be rescued on portions of Interstate 30 after the highway was flooded. Several vehicles were submerged.

A weather station in eastern Dallas recorded 9.41 inches (239 mm) in just six hours.

More showers and thunderstorms are expected today in the Dallas area.

The heavy rain that is impacting northern Texas today will shift toward the lower Mississippi Valley Tuesday and Wednesday.
