Sandstorms Hits Parts of Western Africa


Portions of Mauritania and Senegal have been hit with sandstorms.


At times visibility has been reduced to less than 0.1 km.


On Monday and Tuesday streets in the City of Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, was deserted from low visibility as a result of thick clouds of dust and sand.

Sandstorms are not a rare occurrence in western Africa, but these storms have been exceptional according to local meteorological agencies.
